Dr. Brian C. Rell, DPM, FACFASDr Brian C. Rell Surgeon

Dr. Rell is double board certified by the Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and specializes in treatment of all podiatric and orthopedic foot, ankle, and lower leg conditions. Dr. Rell graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1999 and completed his reconstructive surgical residency at The Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, where he served as chief resident. He has been in private practice in the Sarasota and Bradenton area for 20 years. Dr. Rell currently practices at Southwest Foot and Ankle, LLC and operates primarily at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.

Sports Related Injuries

Serves as a consulting physician for the Baltimore Orioles during their spring training in Sarasota. He manages all sports related injuries to the lower extremity, including injuries to the calf, ankle sprains, ankle fractures, Achilles tendonitis, Achilles tendon ruptures, stress fractures, running injuries including foot fractures, and neuromas.

All foot and ankle disorders, sports related injuries; treats ages 2+

​Adult / Juvenile Reconstructive Surgery

Bunion and hammertoe surgery, mid-foot and hind foot fusions, flatfoot reconstruction, lateral ankle stabilization/ligament repair, and minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures.

​Total ankle replacements (TAR)

One of very few Florida west coast physicians certified and performing TAR; patients with posttraumatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis may be a candidate for TAR.
